A $10,000 reward is being offered in the search for two suspects who broke into a bar in Union and damaged slot machines in order to steal money from them Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. Saturday at Clasen’s Tavern, 17628 Depot Street in Union, which is east of Marengo.

The bar said in a Facebook post that two individuals broke into the business while it was closed.

The two suspects, believed to be a man and woman, can be seen in surveillance video entering the bar.

The male suspect used what appeared to be a hammer and another tool in an attempt to pry open multiple slot machines.

The man can be seen handing over the money from one machine to the woman, who then quickly put it into a backpack.

According to the video shared by Clasen’s Tavern, the burglary spanned approximately three minutes.

The Union Police Department is investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to call them at 815-923-2341.

“Your help is greatly appreciated! Keep our community strong as we work together to apprehend these individuals!” Clasen’s Tavern said in a social media post.

They are offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the two suspects.
