Amanda L. Bunday, 44, of Wonder Lake.

A Wonder Lake woman was arrested by police after she allegedly kicked a security guard in the head and punched another guard in the head at Northwestern Hospital in McHenry.

Amanda L. Bunday, 44, of the 8500 block of Acorn Path in Wonder Lake, was charged with five counts of aggravated battery of a peace officer, possession of meth, reckless driving and resisting a peace officer.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Bunday was pulled over on April 8 for reckless driving after she swerved her vehicle, crossed the median into oncoming traffic and then continued driving recklessly for several blocks.

Deputies with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office attempted to arrest the woman but she kicked one of the deputies in the knee repeatedly.

Bunday continued to resist arrest despite multiple warnings from deputies to stop.

Bunday was transported to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry following the traffic stop.

A separate criminal complaint alleges that Bunday caused bodily harm to one of the hospital’s security officers by kicking him on the right side of his head with her foot, causing redness and pain.

The complaint said that she also struck a second security officer on the right side of his head with her hand, causing redness and pain to the man’s head.

A McHenry County judge ordered Bunday held on a $40,000 bond. She would need to post $4,000 cash in order to be released.

A bond hearing is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
