A 5-year-old boy who went missing Saturday afternoon in Huntley has been found safe, police announced Saturday evening.

The Huntley Police Department said that the child’s name is Cooper and he is a 5-year-old male white.

Cooper is 42 inches tall and 42 pounds. He has blond hair and blue eyes.

Police say that Cooper was last seen around 3 p.m. Saturday in the area of Timer Drive West and Douglas Avenue in Huntley.

The boy was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, dark blue sweatpants and blue shoes.

Police sent out a NIXLE alert to residents in the Huntley just after 4 p.m. Saturday, at which time the boy remained missing.

The Huntley Police Department has not released any additional details on his disappearance. An AMBER Alert has not been issued.

Officers were canvassing the area and searching for Cooper. Police dogs were also sent to the scene to help search.
