Authorities say that a woman who was jogging in a Deerfield neighborhood was groped by a man and police later arrested him Friday morning.
The Deerfield Police Department responded around 7:50 a.m. to the 1300 block of Greenwood Avenue in Deerfield.
Deerfield Deputy Police Chief Brian Budny told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that officers responded to a 911 call for a battery.
Officers interviewed the victim, who told them that a male subject, who she did not know, grabbed her buttocks while she was jogging.
The victim gave officers a physical description of the offender and officers searched the area and located a subject matching the description.
The victim confirmed that the subject police took into custody was the one who groped her, Budny said.
Saul A. Livshutz, 18, of Deerfield, was arrested and charged with battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
Budny did not release any additional details on the incident and court records for the case were not immediately available.
Livshutz was released after posting bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 1.
