Ivan Sanchez-Mercado, 27, of Hebron.

A Hebron man who was charged with sexually abusing a juvenile family member has been released from jail after a judge reduced his bond.

Ivan Sanchez-Mercado, 27, of the 10200 block of Main Street in Hebron, was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim under 18 and one count of domestic battery causing bodily harm.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges that Sanchez-Mercado laid on top of a girl and fondled her body in early April.

The girl is between the age of 12 and 15 and she is related by blood to Sanchez-Mercado, the complaint said.

Sanchez-Mercado allegedly committed the same act of laying on top of the victim and fondling her body again in May, the complaint added.

Officers with the Hebron Police Department investigated the case and arrested Sanchez-Mercado on the evening of May 13.
