Police say a Chicago man groomed a 15-year-old girl and traveled to Algonquin where he sexually abused her at a park on Wednesday.
The Algonquin Police Department received an anonymous call around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday for a public indecency incident at Holder Park, 1040 Timberwood Lane in Algonquin.
Algonquin Deputy Police Chief Dennis Walker said officers arrived and located a 15-year-old girl who was walking away from the park.
Officers also observed a man inside of a white Honda Civic and they stopped the two to investigate.
Officers learned that the man, identified as Rafael Brill, 24, had arranged through an online app to meet with the girl at the park.
Brill, of the 7200 block of North Damen Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at the scene.
The McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, traveling to meet a minor and grooming.
Walker said that the investigation into the case is ongoing and no further information is available for release.
Brill was ordered held in the McHenry County Jail on a $50,000 bond. He would need to post $5,000 cash in order to be released.
A bond hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
