Two police officers and a woman were hospitalized after an unmarked squad car collided with an SUV in Hebron Sunday evening.

The Hebron Police Department and Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District responded around 6:53 p.m. Sunday to Route 173 and Route 47 in Hebron for a vehicle crash with injuries.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Byrnes said an unmarked white 2010 Ford Crown Victoria squad car was traveling southbound on Route 47 at Route 173.

The Ford, occupied by two Hebron police officers, collided with a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer that was traveling eastbound on Route 173 at Route 47.

The Mercury was driven by a 64-year-old woman from Richmond, Byrnes said. It is unclear which car was at fault in the crash.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two police officers in the Ford were also transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry with non-life-threatening injuries.

Byrnes said the investigation into the crash is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. No citations have been issued yet.
