Police arrested a 21-year-old Waukegan man who allegedly fired a gun at multiple people who were standing near his car in Zion.
Ethan A. Gill, 21, of the 1600 block of Sunset Avenue in Waukegan, was charged with three counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.
Officers with the Zion Police Department responded around 1:40 p.m. on May 22 to the 1500 block of Lorelei Drive in Zion for a shooting.
Gill allegedly was sitting inside a vehicle at the apartment complex when he fired shots from a handgun, according to a criminal complaint filed in Lake County Circuit Court.
The complaint said that Gill fired the shots at three people who were standing approximately 25 feet from his vehicle.
No one was struck by the gunfire. Officers recovered Gill’s loaded pistol in his vehicle when they arrested him, the complaint said.
Lake County Judge Daniel Jasica ordered Gill held in the Lake County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
Gill, who would need to post $75,000 cash in order to be released, remains held in the jail as of Tuesday.
Jasica ordered Gill to have no contact with any of the victims or their residences if he is able to post bond. He would also not be allowed to possess any firearms or dangerous weapons, a court order shows.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 17.
