A Wonder Lake man, who was wanted for burglarizing numerous businesses in Wonder Lake and McHenry, including one where he stole money from a donation jar, has been arrested, police announced.

Christopher A. Kalisz, 39, of the 8400 block of Stillwater Road in Wonder Lake, was arrested on Tuesday, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

The first burglary took place on May 27 at the Wonder Foods in the 7500 block of Hancock Drive in Wonder Lake.

An investigation revealed that Kalisz forced entry to the business and surveillance video showed him taking lottery tickets and a donation jar.

Additional surveillance video showed that a previous theft had also occurred there on May 18 where a suspect, later identified as Kalisz, took a donation jar.

Detectives obtained surveillance video from a gas station where the lottery tickets were redeemed.

Another burglary occurred on Saturday when Kalisz allegedly forced entry into Dusty’s Pizza in the 7600 block of Howe Road in Wonder Lake.

A third burglary occurred at the Subway in the 7400 block of Hancock Drive in Wonder Lake on Tuesday.

Kalisz was identified as the suspect in all the incidents and arrested without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.

After Kalisz’s arrest, he was interviewed by the McHenry Police Department who charged him with four additional counts of burglary in connection with a burglary that occurred at Kim and Patty’s Cafe in McHenry.

Kalisz was taken to the McHenry County Jail where he is being held on a $50,000 bond.
