Samantha Oleary, 47, of Richmond.

A Richmond woman was arrested after she allegedly burglarized her neighbor’s home and stole a bottle of whiskey from the kitchen of their residence.

Samantha Oleary, 47, of the 11400 block of Lakeview Road in Richmond, was charged with one count of residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and resisting a peace officer, a Class A misdemeanor.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential burglary call that occurred in the 11500 block of Grant Street in unincorporated Richmond on Wednesday.

According to a criminal complaint, sheriff’s deputies investigated and learned that Oleary, who lives on the next street over, entered the victim’s home through an unlocked rear sliding glass door.

Oleary stole a bottle of “The Glenlivet” single malt scotch whisky from the kitchen countertop.

Sheriff’s deputies located the woman around 4:30 p.m. that same day.

When deputies tried to arrest her, she pulled her arms away from them and leaned over at the waist attempting to pull her hands in front of her stomach to prevent them from handcuffing her, the complaint said.
