An Island Lake man has been released on bond after being arrested for sexually assaulting his granddaughter on at least two occasions, court records show.
Luis Dominguez-Tapia, 65, of the 900 block of Wembly Drive in Island Lake, was arrested on June 12.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges that Dominguez-Tapia sexually abused a juvenile victim in November.
The victim, who is the granddaughter of Dominguez-Tapia, was between 10-13 years old at the time of the abuse.
Dominguez-Tapia allegedly sexually assaulted the victim again in March by sexually penetrating her, the complaint said.
The Island Lake Police Department investigated the incidents and a McHenry County judge issued an arrest warrant for Dominguez-Tapia on June 9.
Dominguez-Tapia was charged with felony counts of criminal sexual assault of a family member, criminal sexual assault by force and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a juvenile family member.
Court records show Dominguez-Tapia was being held in the McHenry County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Dominguez-Tapia posted 10% of his $100,000 bond on Tuesday and was released.
He was ordered to have no unsupervised contact with anyone under 18 and has to stay away from the victim, court documents said.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.
