Police say a 28-year-old Buffalo Grove man was killed Friday afternoon when his car drove off the roadway and slammed into a large tree in Long Grove.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Long Grove Fire Protection District responded around 4:10 p.m. Friday to Route 53 southwest of Robert Parker Coffin Road in Long Grove for a single-vehicle crash.

Deputies arrived and located a 2005 Toyota Camry with major damage, according to Lake County Sheriff Spokesman Lt. Christopher Covelli.

The driver, a 28-year-old Buffalo Grove man, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was heavily entrapped.

He sustained major injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene, Covelli said.
