A man was in serious condition after being shot multiple times by a gunman at a home in Zion Thursday evening, police said.

The Zion Fire Rescue Department and Zion Police Department responded around 11:30 p.m. Thursday to the 2100 block of Bethesda Boulevard for a report of a shooting.

Zion Police Department Lt. Paul Kehrli told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that officers arrived and found a 20-year-old man who had been shot.

The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Kehrli said.

Paramedics transported the man by ambulance to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he was treated for serious injuries.

The victim, who survived the shooting, was a resident at the home where the incident occurred, Kehrli said. It is unclear if the man has been released from the hospital yet.

Detectives are seeking a single male offender who fled the scene and does not live at the residence.
