Four people were hospitalized, including three who were seriously injured and trapped, following a head-on crash on Route 31 in Prairie Grove, which is near Crystal Lake.
The Nunda Rural Fire Protection District and Prairie Grove Police Department responded around 1:56 p.m. Wednesday to Route 31 near Gracy Road in Prairie Grove.

Firefighters extricated the three victims and paramedics transported them to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry in serious condition.
A fourth victim, who was the driver of a commercial truck pulling a trailer, was transported by ambulance to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
The McHenry Fire Protection District and Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department assisted the Nunda Rural Fire Protection District at the scene.
