No injuries were reported after an SUV partially crashed into a room at a Brookdale senior living facility in Vernon Hills Friday morning.

The Countryside Fire Protection District and Vernon Hills Police Department responded around 11:10 a.m. Friday to Brookdale Vernon Hills, 145 North Milwaukee Avenue, for a report of a vehicle crash.

Firefighters arrived to find a Lexus SUV that jumped a curb and crashed into the side of the building near the front entrance.

The front end of the Lexus partially entered a resident’s room at the facility, according to Vernon Hills Police Department Crime Prevention Officer Jeff Hemesath.

Paramedics evaluated the driver of the Lexus for injuries but they did not require transport to the hospital, fire officials said.

No one inside the building was injured during the incident.

The Vernon Hills Building Department was called to the scene to evaluate the structure and it was determined the damage did not affect the integrity of the building, Hemesath said.

A board-up company also responded to the scene to board up the damaged section of the building.

Hemesath said the driver of the Lexus was not impaired but appeared confused by what happened. They were not cited for the incident.
