Conservation police are searching for the driver of a jet ski that intentionally ran over a mother duck and her 15 ducklings, killing some of them, on Petite Lake in Lake Villa.

Antioch resident Ainsley Brook Wonderling said in a social media post that a male was driving a jet ski with a female passenger around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The jet ski was traveling in the channel from Petite Lake to Spring Lake, Wonderling said.

“They passed a mother wood duck and her 15 very small ducklings. They spun around, gunned the engine and drove straight into them, allegedly, killing several,” Wonderling said.

“They were told to stop by the photographer who was called a b–ch and the laughing cretins drove off,” she added.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Police Department confirmed to Lake and McHenry County Scanner that they are investigating the incident.
