Alexia Peters, 16, of Cary.

Police say they are attempting to locate a 16-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Cary and has not been seen for over a week.

The Cary Police Department said the missing juvenile is 16-year-old Alexia Peters.

Peters was last seen voluntarily leaving her home in Cary around 12:45 p.m. on July 27, according to Cary Deputy Police Chief Scott Naydenoff.

Peters last had telephone contact with someone at approximately 9:45 p.m. that same day, Naydenoff said.

She was seen wearing black leggings, a white tank top, a gray North Face jacket, white Puma shoes and was carrying a teal backpack.

Peters is described as approximately 5-foot-4 and 115 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

The teen is possibly in the Cicero area, Naydenoff said, adding that information is not confirmed.

“At this time there is no reason to believe Alexia is in any danger other than the length of time from last contact,” Naydenoff said.

Anyone with information about the girl’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Cary Police Department Investigation’s Section at 847-639-2341.
