The sheriff’s office said an 18-year-old man is in critical condition after he was stabbed with his own knife by another man that disarmed him in unincorporated Libertyville Tuesday morning.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred in the 16200 block of West Des Plaines Drive in unincorporated Libertyville.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the call around 1 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a stabbing, according to Lake County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Christopher Covelli.

A preliminary investigation shows an 18-year-old Park City man drove to the Libertyville residence, where an 18-year-old man lives, to confront him about “an ongoing feud,” Covelli said.

During the verbal argument, the Libertyville man pulled out a knife and the argument turned physical.

Covelli said that the Park City man was able to take the knife and he then stabbed the Libertyville man.
