Sharrita S. Wright, 40, of Zion.

A Zion woman has been charged with stabbing a man in Round Lake Beach and fighting two police officers, injuring them, earlier this month.

Sharrita S. Wright, 40, of the 2000 block of Hebron Avenue in Zion, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, two counts of aggravated battery, resisting a peace officer and aggravated assault.

A criminal complaint filed in Lake County Circuit Court alleges Wright waved a knife and threatened a woman on August 4.

Wright then caused “great bodily harm” to a man, who is a family or household member of Wright, by stabbing him near his hand, causing a laceration, the complaint said.

Police officers with the Round Lake Beach Police Department arrived and attempted to take Wright into custody.

Wright struggled with two officers by resisting arrest and injured both of them, the complaint said.

Paramedics with the Lake Villa Fire Protection District transported the 47-year-old stabbing victim to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. His condition was not known.

Wright was also transported to a local hospital for treatment, court records said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Wright and she was transported to the Lake County Jail on August 5 after being released from the hospital.

Lake County Judge Paul Novak ordered Wright held on a $350,000 bond. She would need to post $35,000 cash in order to be released.

An arraignment hearing is scheduled for September 3.
