Louis S. Love, 31, of Waukegan.

A Waukegan man was arrested in connection with a home invasion last month in Waukegan where he allegedly tried to rob and sexually assault a woman.

Louis S. Love, 31, of the 800 block of Low Avenue in Waukegan, was charged with four counts of home invasion, two counts of residential burglary and one count of attempted criminal sexual assault.

A criminal complaint filed in Lake County Circuit Court alleges that Love entered a woman’s apartment in the 800 block of Grand Avenue in Waukegan on July 31.

The female resident was in bed when Love broke into the apartment, the complaint said.

Love allegedly grabbed the woman and held a towel down over her face, according to a grand jury indictment.

The man then got on top of the victim and groped her sex organ, the indictment said.

Court documents also said that Love demanded money from the victim during the incident.

Officers with the Waukegan Police Department arrested Love and a Lake County judge ordered him held in jail on a $750,000 bond.

It is unknown if Love knew the victim or not. He lives in a residence one street south from where the home invasion took place, court records show.

Love remains held in the Lake County Jail as of Monday and would need to post $75,000 cash in order to be released.

An arraignment hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
