The mother of a 14-year-old boy who went missing for several days from the McHenry area said her son has been located safe.
Christine Shale Dascott said her son, Caleb Corbett, ran away from their home on Monday after they got into an argument.
Dascott said that Caleb did not go to school on Tuesday and his phone was off.
He was last seen walking down Route 120 from Curran Road in McHenry going towards Wonder Lake.
A missing person report has been filed with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and police were actively searching for him.
Early Wednesday morning, Dascott said police found the boy Tuesday evening at a house near Hancock Drive in Wonder Lake.
Caleb ran from police, who searched the area for several hours without being able to find him.
Dascott said in an update Thursday evening that her son had been located and was back at home.
“He’s home! Thank you all for sharing and being so supportive! Time to do lots of work to get us on the right track again,” she said.
