A Chicago man has been arrested and charged with shooting at another vehicle while driving on Interstate 94 near Bannockburn last month, state police said.

Raphael Roman, 19, of Chicago, was charged with one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm, a Class 1 felony.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on August 15 on westbound Interstate 94 near Duffy Lane in Bannockburn.

Illinois State Police District 15 troopers responded to a call of shots fired that came from a silver or black Honda Civic.

The driver of the Honda Civic, later identified Roman, allegedly pulled a gun and fired at least three shots into a red Ford pickup truck.

The victim of the Ford, a 46-year-old man from Sussex, Wisconsin, was not struck by the gunfire, according to Illinois State Police.

Police closed all lanes of westbound Interstate 94 to search for evidence on the expressway. Traffic was diverted off to Deerfield Road in Deerfield from Interstate 94.

Roman remains held in the Lake County Jail on a $75,000 bond. A status of attorney hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
