Police arrested a Huntley man after he allegedly “pulled the hair out” of a child, who is under the age of 13, causing injury, court documents show.
Marco P. Bernal-Granados, 32, of the 9600 block of Dunhill Drive in Huntley, was charged with aggravated battery to a child causing great bodily harm, a Class 3 felony, and two counts of domestic battery.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges Bernal-Granados made physical contact and caused bodily harm to a child.
Bernal-Granados allegedly grabbed the child’s hair with both hands and pulled it out, the complaint said.
The incident happened on September 23 and Huntley Deputy Police Chief Linda Hooten confirmed the child sustained injury.
Hooten said the victim is related to the suspect, but she said she could not provide additional details due to the juvenile being involved.
Police officers with the Huntley Police Department arrested Bernal-Granados at his residence on Dunhill Drive on Sunday, a police report shows.
Bernal-Granados was transported to the McHenry County Jail where he was released after posting 10% of a $30,000 bond.
As part of his bond conditions, Bernal-Granados is not allowed to have any contact with the victim or their residence, court documents show.
A hearing to set the date for a preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 8.
