A Grayslake man was arrested after authorities say he headbutted a police officer and injured a second officer in McHenry on Thursday.
Tyrese L. Gray-Henry, 22, of the 500 block of Zeigler Drive in Grayslake, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery on a peace officer, a Class 2 felony.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court alleges the incident took place on Thursday in McHenry.
The complaint said Gray-Henry struck a McHenry Police Department officer in the face with his head “in a headbutt motion,” causing injury to the female officer’s face.
Gray-Henry then grabbed a police sergeant’s hand and arm, causing injury to her wrist and hand, the complaint said.
It is unknown what prompted the attack or where it occurred. Lake and McHenry County Scanner is awaiting further information from the McHenry Police Department.
Gray-Henry was wanted at the time of his arrest for a domestic battery case where he allegedly battered his girlfriend on October 14 in McHenry, court records show.
He was charged with two counts of domestic battery in that case.
Gray-Henry remains held in the McHenry County Jail on a $40,000 bond. He would need to post $4,000 cash in order to be released.
A bond hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
