The Major Crime Task Force is investigating after a 27-year-old man was fatally shot outside an apartment in Park City Sunday, officials said.
The Park City Police Department responded around 12 p.m. Sunday to the 700 block of Sharon Avenue in Park City for a report of a person down outside of an apartment complex.
Officers arrived and found a 27-year-old man from North Chicago who had been shot, according to Lake County Major Crime Task Force Spokesman Christopher Covelli.
The man was unresponsive and officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived.
Paramedics transported the man to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan where he was pronounced dead, Covelli said.
The Park City Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to assist in investigating the homicide.
Multiple evidence markers were seen outside of a car parked at the apartment.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded and an autopsy on the man is scheduled for tomorrow.
The incident remains under investigation by Park City police detectives and task force investigators.
