The coroner’s office has identified a 27-year-old North Chicago man who died Sunday after being shot multiple times at an apartment complex in Park City.

An autopsy showed that James Hicks, 27, of North Chicago, died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek.

The Park City Police Department responded around 12 p.m. Sunday to the 700 block of Sharon Avenue in Park City for a report of a person down outside of an apartment complex.

Officers arrived and found Hicks, who had been shot, according to Lake County Major Crime Task Force Spokesman Christopher Covelli.

Hicks was unresponsive and officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived.

Paramedics transported the man to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan where he was pronounced dead, Covelli said.

The Park City Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to assist in investigating the homicide.

Multiple evidence markers were seen outside of a car parked at the apartment.

The incident remains under investigation by Park City police detectives and task force investigators.
