Multiple suspects Thursday morning stole vehicles from a car dealership in Antioch, damaging multiple vehicles in the process and fleeing from police.
The Antioch Police Department said they are investigating two separate car theft incidents from Kunes Country Ford, 104 East Route 173 in Antioch.
A 2019 Ford F-350 was stolen from the car dealership around 7 a.m. Saturday.
A preliminary investigation revealed multiple suspects arrived at the dealership in two separate vehicles.
An attempt was also made to steal another truck by breaking out a window of the vehicle, police said. The attempt to steal the second vehicle was unsuccessful.
Several subjects arrived at Kunes Country Ford again around 2 a.m. Thursday in two separate vehicles.
Multiple offenders were observed on surveillance cameras attempting to steal vehicles.
In the process of attempting to steal vehicles from the dealership, the suspects damaged another vehicle by ramming it out of the way to gain access to higher-end vehicles.
More vehicles were damaged as the suspects fled the dealership, police said.
The Antioch Police Department was alerted to the crime in progress by an employee of a neighboring business.
The suspects then went to Antioch Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, which is across from Kunes Country Ford.
As the first police officer arrived on the scene, the suspects nearly struck his squad as they fled in multiple vehicles.
“Due to safety concerns, the responding officers ended any attempts to stop the offenders as they already showed no concern for general traffic on Route 173 and our officer,” officials said in a statement,
The offenders were successful in stealing an unknown amount of vehicles from Kunes Country Ford. The dealership is currently reviewing its inventory.
It is unknown if the Saturday and Thursday incidents were committed by the same suspects or not.
Antioch Police Department investigators are asking members of the public to help identify anyone in the released surveillance photos.
