Police are investigating after suspects forced entry to a car dealership in Highland Park and stole a Ford Mustang and a Jeep last week.

The Highland Park Police Department responded around 5:10 a.m. November 3 to the Highland Park Ford, 1333 Park Avenue West in Highland Park.

Officers arrived and found that suspects had forced entry to the building overnight.

Multiple key fobs were disturbed in an office and a personal checkbook was missing from a desk, according to a police report.

A 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 and 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee were reported stolen from the dealership.

Both vehicles were later recovered undamaged in Wisconsin, the police report said.

Two days later on November 5, police responded to the Audi Exchange, 2490 Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park, for a report of a burglary.

Officers learned that an unknown suspect or suspects gained access to the showroom overnight, according to a police report.

The suspects left the property and nothing was reported missing. The building and vehicles on the property were not damaged.

It is unknown if the same suspects committed both burglaries.
