Police arrested a driver for driving under the influence after the man crashed into a light pole and then into a restaurant in Antioch Friday evening.
The Antioch Police Department received multiple 911 calls around 11:41 p.m. Friday for a vehicle that crashed into a building at Rivalry Alehouse, 945 Main Street.
No pedestrians, patrons or workers inside the business were injured, police said.
An investigation showed Nicolas Placko, 39, of Antioch, was driving a Cadillac CTS eastbound on Lake Street.
He continued through the intersection at Main Street and struck the light pole and then the building, police said.
Placko was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and received several other traffic-related citations.
Placko has a scheduled court date in Lake County on December 2.
The Village of Antioch Building Department responded to the scene to check the integrity of the building, police said.
A board-up service was called to frame the broken windows and entry door.
The owners of the Rivalry Alehouse are in the process of obtaining an estimate of the damage.
