No suspects are in custody yet after police say a gunman fired multiple shots at a home in Beach Park early Monday morning.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded around 4:15 a.m. Monday to the 39100 block of Queensbury Lane in Beach Park for a report of shots fired.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said deputies arrived and confirmed a home had been struck several times by bullets.

Nobody inside the home was struck by the gunfire.

A preliminary investigation shows the suspect or suspects appeared to have targeted the home.

A man, who was recently charged with a crime, previously resided in the home and is no longer living there, Covelli said.

He is believed to have been the intended target of the shooting.

Evidence was recovered at the scene and sheriff’s detectives are actively investigating the incident.
