Authorities have identified a man and woman found dead in a Libertyville motel from an apparent drug overdose. The couple’s baby was found in the room unharmed.

Robert Callen, 35, of Wauconda, and Amanda Dubin, 34, of Wauconda, are both believed to have suffered from drug overdoses, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

Toxicology results are pending to confirm their cause of death.

The Libertyville Police Department and Libertyville Fire Department responded around 11:08 a.m. Saturday to the Motel 6, 1809 North Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville.

Libertyville Police Department Sgt. Jason Kapusinski said officers responded to a report of two people found unresponsive in a room at the motel.

Officers arrived at the scene and confirmed Callen and Dubin were both deceased in one of the rooms, Kapusinski said.

An infant in the room appeared unharmed and was transported by paramedics to Advocate Condell Medical Center for a medical assessment.

Sources told Lake and McHenry County Scanner the infant is 6-months-old.

Officers reportedly found the infant under the bed after it fell off the bed, the sources said.

Callen and Dubin were the parents of the 6-month-old who was found in the room.

It is unclear how long the parents were dead before being found.

Kapusinski said that a preliminary investigation revealed the deaths appear to be drug-related.

The infant is now in the care of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

The incident remains under investigation by the Libertyville Police Department and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
