A teenager was hospitalized with minor injuries after the minivan he was driving hit a utility pole and rolled over near Crystal Lake Thursday morning.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded around 8:09 a.m. Thursday to the 5000 block of Edgewood Road in unincorporated Crystal Lake.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy Tim Creighton said deputies received a call for a single-vehicle crash on Edgewood Road west of Route 31.

A preliminary investigation showed a tan 2004 Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on Edgewood Road.

The Honda, driven by a 17-year-old Crystal Lake boy, drove off the roadway and struck a utility pole on the north side of the road.
