A 50-year-old man was arrested after prosecutors say he sexually assaulted a teenage girl after she entered a unit at a storage facility in Zion this past week.
Paul E. Kucharski, 50, of the 2600 block of Gilead Avenue in Zion, was arrested on Friday by the Zion Police Department, court records show.
Prosecutors said during a bond hearing that Kucharski encountered the female victim while she was at a storage unit that her family rented, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Prosecutors said Kucharski sexually assaulted the teenage girl. Kucharski might have been living in another storage unit at the time, prosecutors said.
Police officials told the Chicago Tribune the attack occurred on Wednesday. They declined to give a specific address where it occurred.
Charges of criminal sexual assault by force and aggravated criminal sexual abuse were filed against the man.
A Lake County judge ordered Kucharski held in the Lake County Jail on a $750,000 bond.
Kucharski, who would have to post $75,000 cash to be released, remains held in jail and is scheduled to appear in court again on December 16.
