Robert A. Burrow, 20, of Sterling.

A police officer suffered injuries after he was hit by a car while trying to arrest a man on Thanksgiving Day in Marengo, court records show.

Robert A. Burrow, 20, of the 3600 block of River Road in Sterling, was charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, three counts of resisting a peace officer and fleeing to elude an officer.

A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said officers with the Marengo Police Department attempted to arrest Burrow on Thursday in Marengo.

Burrow allegedly refused to comply with officers’ orders to exit his vehicle, the complaint said.

Burrow then fled from officers in an attempt to avoid arrest, the complaint said.

As Burrow fled, he struck a police officer with his white Buick Century, causing the officer to suffer injuries to his left arm, shoulder and back.
