Police say a gunman fired multiple shots into a house in Harvard Monday evening and are asking the public for information on the incident.

The Harvard Police Department responded around 6:30 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of West Metzen Street in Harvard for a report of a shooting.

Harvard Deputy Police Chief Tyson Bauman said officers received numerous calls for multiple shots fired in the area.

Police officers arrived and discovered a residence in the 700 block of West Metzen Street that had been struck several times with an unknown type caliber weapon.

It was determined no occupants inside the residence were injured during the incident, Bauman said.

“There is no immediate threat for other residents in the area,” Bauman added. No suspects are in custody.

The Harvard Police Department is actively investigating the shooting with the assistance of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
