A pedestrian was fatally struck by a semi-truck on Interstate 94 near Lake Forest around noon on Thursday, state police said.
The Illinois State Police and Lake Forest Fire Department responded around 12 p.m. Thursday to eastbound Interstate 94 near mile marker 19.75, which is south of Route 60, for a report of a person struck by a semi-truck.
Illinois State Police Trooper Genelle Jones said a pedestrian was struck in traffic by a passing vehicle.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The right two lanes of Interstate 94 south of Route 60 were closed for an investigation, Jones said.
