A woman was rushed to the hospital after being beaten and stabbed by her boyfriend early Sunday morning in Round Lake Beach, police said.

Round Lake Beach Deputy Police Chief Wayne Wilde Jr. said officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving erratically around 2:24 a.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of North Cedar Lake Road.

The vehicle pulled over in the Domino’s Pizza parking lot in the 300 block of Rollins Road, Wilde said.

The 31-year-old male driver said he was called by a female friend, who told him that she had been beaten and dropped off in the Domino’s parking lot.

Officers searched and located the 36-year-old female victim in the parking lot. She was suffering from a stab wound in the abdominal area, Wilde said.

Paramedics with the Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District were called and rushed the woman to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where her condition has been stabilized, Wilde said.

An investigation showed the victim had been stabbed by her boyfriend, identified as Ian C. Wedge, 32, during an altercation at his Round Lake Beach residence, Wilde said.

Wedge, of the 500 block of Meadow Hill Lane in Round Lake Beach, then drove the victim to the Domino’s parking lot where he dropped her off.

Officers arrested Wedge without incident at his residence.

Wedge is facing felony charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated domestic battery.

Wedge remains held in Lake County Jail on a $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again on December 15.
