A semi-truck pulling a Target trailer, which was filled with packages, became stuck after the driver tried to drive under a viaduct in Deerfield on Wednesday.

The Village of Deerfield said the incident occurred on Deerfield Road near Chestnut Street Wednesday afternoon.

Village officials said a semi-truck traveling eastbound became stuck under the Metra viaduct.

Officers with the Deerfield Police Department shut down traffic on Deerfield Road between Chestnut Street and Robert York Avenue.

Numerous signs are posted in the area leading up to the viaduct warning that it has a clearance of 11 feet, 9 inches.

No one was injured in the collision, which caused heavy damage to the Target trailer that the semi was pulling.

It is unknown if the driver of the truck was cited by police.

Ernie’s Auto and Truck Center sent heavy equipment to the scene to assist in removing the semi-truck and trailer.
