A Buffalo Grove woman was arrested for allegedly attacking a man with a hatchet, causing serious injuries to him on Thanksgiving Day in Buffalo Grove.
Eleonora Prilutsky, 52, of the 600 block of Harris Drive in Buffalo Grove, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
Court records show Prilutsky was arrested by officers with the Buffalo Grove Police Department on November 25.
Court documents allege that the woman used a hatchet and struck a male family member multiple times with the weapon, causing great bodily harm.
The incident occurred on November 25 in the 600 block of Harris Drive in Buffalo Grove.
The 58-year-old victim suffered a large laceration to his head and lacerations to both of his hands, court documents said.
He was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment.
During a bond hearing, Lake County Judge Christopher Kennedy ordered Prilutsky held on a $500,000 bond.
Prilutsky remains held in the Lake County Jail as of Monday.
The woman was appointed a public defender, who filed an emergency request for a mental health consultant to meet with Prilutsky in the jail.
Prilutsky is scheduled to appear in court again on December 22 for a preliminary hearing.
