Macario Salazar-Flores, 41, of Waukegan.

A Waukegan man was arrested after being charged with sexually assaulting a young child at a motel in Beach Park, court records show.

Macario Salazar-Flores, 41, of the 2700 block of Butrick Street in Waukegan, was charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony.

Salazar-Flores allegedly sexually assaulted a girl, who was under the age of 13, between July 2019 and November 2019, according to a criminal complaint filed in Lake County Circuit Court.

The assault occurred at the American Inn Motel, located at 39018 North Sheridan Road in Beach Park, the complaint said.

An arrest warrant was signed by a Lake County judge in late November. Bond on the warrant was set at $500,000.

A Lake County grand jury returned an indictment against Salazar-Flores earlier this month.

The grand jury charged Salazar-Flores with an additional charge of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony, in addition to the two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

A case management conference is scheduled for January 13.
