Firefighters from the Waukegan Fire Department stopped by Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan on Monday to deliver holiday presents to children.

Firefighters have been delivering holiday gifts to Vista’s pediatric patients for more than 30 years.

Vista Health System said the firefighters put together gift bags filled with coloring books and crayons, toys, candy and more.

They also provided a new television and kid-size table and chairs to the hospital on Monday.

“We appreciate the fire department continuing this long-standing, heartwarming tradition of helping to brings smiles to our youngest patients when they’re not feeling their best,” Vista Health System said.

Last year, the firefighters dropped off the gifts as part of their annual tradition but they were not able to enter the hospital to personally deliver them due to the pandemic.
