Firefighters and police officers helped reunite a dog with its family after the dog was found in the water on Bangs Lake in Wauconda Tuesday.
The Wauconda Fire District and Wauconda Police Department responded around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to Bangs Lake.
Officials said they received a call for a dog that was in the water.
Firefighters conducted a brief search on the water and found the dog on the shoreline across the lake.
Following a “coordinated chase” with officers from the Wauconda Police Department, first responders were able to catch the dog.
The water temperature on Bangs Lake Tuesday was believed to be 30-40 degrees.
The dog, named Dasher, was reunited safely with its owner, according to the Wauconda Fire District.
