Dozens of Lake County Sheriff’s Office employees attended ‘Shop with a Sheriff’ last week where nearly 100 Lake County children were able to shop for holiday gifts.

The event took place on December 16 at the Round Lake Beach Walmart.

The event was attended by Lake County Sheriff John Idleburg, dozens of correctional officers, deputies, auxiliary deputies, and other sheriff staff.

“This event brings smiles on the faces of so many Lake County children, and it is only one of dozens of yearly events our staff volunteer their time to directly benefit the people of Lake County,” Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said.

Idleburg said there is “truly nothing better than being able to brighten the holiday season” for children in the community.

“I am so incredibly proud of the dedicated members of the sheriff’s office who not only serve the community every day they work, but also volunteer their own personal time to benefit Lake County families,” Idleburg said.
