Approximately $100,000 in damage was reported following a large garage fire Friday evening in Crystal Lake, fire officials said.
The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded around 9:44 p.m. Friday to the 200 block of South Dole Avenue in Crystal Lake for a call of a structure fire.
Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department Bureau Chief Chris Kopera said a person passing called 911 to report the fire.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find a large fire in a detached garage.
Other structures in proximity to the garage were not involved. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
The damage to the structure is estimated at $60,000, while two vehicles in the garage sustained damage estimated at $40,000.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known and remains under investigation.
There were no injuries to any firefighters or civilians, Kopera said.
Crystal Lake was assisted by several area fire departments including Algonquin-Lake in the Hills, Barrington, Carpentersville, Huntley, Marengo and McHenry.
Both Crystal Lake and Lakewood police departments assisted at the scene.
