Jose E. Roldan-Vazquez, 35, of Mount Prospect.

A man was arrested after police say he strangled a security guard while being treated at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The Libertyville Police Department responded around 10:50 p.m. December 22 to Advocate Condell Medical Center, 801 South Milwaukee Avenue.

Libertyville Deputy Police Chief Ed Sindles said officers received a report of a patient who was being violent with staff.

Officers arrived on the scene and met with Condell security staff, who indicated the offender was Jose E. Roldan-Vazquez, 35, of the 0-100 block of North Alber Street in Mount Prospect.

Roldan-Vazquez was accused of strangling a security officer while he was being treated at the hospital.

Authorities did not say what prompted the attack.

Roldan-Vazquez was arrested upon his release from hospital care and transported to the Libertyville Police Department.

He was charged with misdemeanor battery and released from custody after signing a $164 personal recognizance bond, Sindles said.
