A two-vehicle crash left one vehicle rolled over and a telephone pole snapped in half, hanging in the air along Route 14, Monday in Crystal Lake.
The Crystal Lake Police Department and Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue District responded around 10:24 a.m. Monday to Route 14 and Exchange Drive for a report of a vehicle crash.
The fire department arrived to find a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
The Crystal Lake Police Department warned residents on social media to avoid the area as all lanes had been shut down following the crash.
The incident involved a Chevrolet sedan and a Toyota minivan.
The two vehicles ended up in the eastbound lanes of Route 14 just east of the Volkswagen of Crystal Lake dealership.
The driver of the Chevrolet sedan was transported by paramedics to a local hospital, a witness said. The driver of the Toyota, which rolled over, was not injured.
Police reopened the roadway around 1:15 p.m. Monday, approximately three hours after the crash.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
