Two police officers with the Lake Forest Police Department were recognized this week for saving the life of a resident in Lake Forest last year.

Lake Forest police officers Dan Blaul and Tyler Saieg were recognized Thursday by ZOLL EMS and Fire, and Lake Forest Forest Fire Department Battalion Chief Cory Kazimour.

Blaul and Saieg responded to a home on September 3 in the early morning hours for a call of a person who was found unresponsive by his family.

The two officers arrived before the fire department and began performing CPR and preparing the patient with an AED.

Their efforts led to the successful resuscitation of the resident.

“The quick actions of these officers to take over CPR and prepare the patient with an AED, continued the chain of survival until advanced lifesaving care was administered by the Lake Forest Fire Department,” the police department said.
