A 76-year-old man, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was killed after he rolled his pickup truck over in unincorporated Harvard Monday morning, the sheriff’s office said.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Harvard Fire Protection District and Woodstock Fire Rescue District responded around 9:30 a.m. Monday to the 17000 block of Streit Road in unincorporated Harvard for a single-vehicle rollover crash.
Emergency crews arrived and found a 2009 Ford Ranger rolled over in a field.
A preliminary investigation showed that the Ford, driven by Victor Meuch, 76, of Wonder Lake, was traveling west on Streit Road, according to a statement from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
For unknown reasons, Meuch drove off the south side of the roadway and rolled his pickup over.
Meuch was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff’s office said.
Police say drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
