A 33-year-old man was shot multiple times and rushed to the hospital Sunday evening following a shooting in Park City, police said.

The Park City Police Department and Gurnee Fire Department responded around 6 p.m. Sunday to the 3300 block of 7th Street in Park City for a shooting call.

Park City Police Department Commander Kenneth Stoves said officers arrived and found one person shot.

The victim, a 33-year-old man, had been shot multiple times at the Colonial Park Apartment Complex, Stoves said.

Paramedics with the Gurnee Fire Department transported the man to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Stoves said the victim was taken into surgery upon arrival at the hospital. The victim’s condition was not immediately known.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli said his department sent multiple deputies to assist with scene security.

The Waukegan Police Department also sent officers to assist at the scene.

The Park City Police Department is conducting an investigation into the shooting.
