Authorities have released the identity of a 19-year-old woman who died Tuesday afternoon after being shot at an apartment complex in Park City.
A preliminary autopsy showed that Tashia Price, 19, of Park City, died from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek.
The Park City Police Department responded around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to the Colonial Park Apartment Complex in the 700 block of Sharon Avenue in Park City for a report of a person shot.
Officers arrived and found Price, who lives at the apartment, was suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Lake County Major Crime Task Force Spokesman Christopher Covelli.
Officers attempted life-saving measures on the woman until paramedics with the Gurnee Fire Department arrived and took over.
Paramedics transported Price to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where she was pronounced dead, Covelli said.
The Park City Police Department requested the Lake County Major Crime Task Force to assist in the investigation.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Price on Wednesday.
The incident comes after a 33-year-old man was shot multiple times Sunday evening at the same apartment complex.
